It all started with Ahmet Benici. The World's lead scientist published his findings that the laws that govern our world would change so drastically human life would not be possible. It was his findings that urged the U.S government to begin a secret project, Project New World. The purpose of this project was to save humanity from its impending doom. So I invite you visitor, whoever you are it doesn't really matter. Come, sit down at your keyboard and tell me, what role are you going to play in this story?
Setting
There are many rumors and stories to be told about the city of Chase. Stories and tales rise from the mysterious forest that borders its northern side. There's big talk of some government project happening on the other side, but no one can know for sure. The small town has a rather sparse population of 20,000 people and is kept isolated from its neighboring town by Wyers lake.

Appearance: At his full height, Rowan only stands at five feet and eight and a half inches. Despite his short stature, the patient has a well-built form that gives him an advantage over others his age. Upon his sixteenth birthday, he was pulled aside by the scientists, designated to one day take his father's position as the head of the compound guard. For this very reason, he hasn't had to undergo a single experiment in the last three years. With strong arms, broad shoulders, and a chiseled form he's worked hard to earn, Rowan has physically progressed beyond the strength of any stable patient.
His skin is a light olive color, his smooth facial features nearly identical to his fathers. His eyes are incredibly dark, framed by bushy onyx brows that seem to have colored themselves perfectly to match his long hair. All in all, Rowan has a rather somber appearance, having the tendency to look quite sad when he shows little facial expression. He won't be caught dead outside of his guard attire, the black and gold uniform does little to sooth his dismal look.
It's more than rare for a patient to discover who their true parents are, in fact, it's unheard of. Some might argue Rowan was lucky to discover his father Carlyle Wolfe was one of the compound faculty but in truth, the fact always haunted him a little. His father was a brutal man, the head of the Compound guards and in his life as a patient Rowan had witnessed him do terrible things. The knowledge of his lineage had tossed the boy into a dark place of loneliness, disgusted at himself and his innate desire to please the man who had sired him. Rowan has always longed for the affirming hand of a father, or someone to admit they were proud of him, so he strives to no end to please Carlyle Wolfe jumping through hoop after hoop in order to prove his worthiness.
The man hardly seems to notice him, though, and over the years Rowan's insecurities have grown into a bottomless pit, leaving him introspectively broken. He will walk with the same air of confidence and purpose as most guards, and will never allow his facade to falter under his father's watch. But when the other guards aren't around, Rowan tends to slip into a state of constant worry.
Since the day it was announced he would one day take over the position of Head Guard, Rowan has been compared to his father on every occasion. Gradually the rest of the faculty began to treat him less like himself and more like his father, a junior version of his father. They even went as far as to nickname him 'Junior Wolf'. At first, Rowan had been proud, convinced he was finally filling in the shoes his father would one day leave behind. However as the years passed, he felt as thought he'd missed something, a loss in his own identity he could never return to. To this day, Rowan is haunted at what he's made himself become, and grieves the loss of his former self.
Given he's spent the last three years trying to become the perfect son, it should come as no surprise Rowan has his own secret quirks and fancies. For one, the guard loves to be in the kitchen. The cooks have let him tried his hand at cooking on a few occasions and he'd made sure to blow them away with the simple yet flavorful meal he'd made. If he could start his life over, if he hadn't been forced into becoming a guard, Rowan would have loved nothing more then to become a cook. When he's in the kitchen, nothing else matters but the task at hand, as if the sweet aromas wash away all his troubles. But for now, all he can do is enviously watch the kitchen staff from afar.
Despite his cold facade, Rowan isn't an unkind person. He'll go out of his way to help just about anyone - with good reason - and in most cases won't stand for unfair treatment. The guard won't hesitate to give a patient what for if they're really asking for it, but he always manages to apologize in some form or another.
Among his many quirks and habits, Rowan tends to annoy his peers and colleagues both with the things he does. Whether it be playing with mundane objects like they're toys or his incessant humming his constantly being told to 'sit down', 'shut up', or 'hold still'. With his association with the faculty guards, Rowan has an increasing tendency to stand with his hands behind his back even when he isn't required to.
Mental Characteristics:
Rowan Wolfe is the paragon of strength. Similarly, he is drawn to strength but strength of a different kind. He's always found himself drawn to those who are strong of mind or of heart, finding a certain peace resides around them as though they might have all the answer's he's looking for. The guard is by no means school smart, but he has a reputation for being tech savvy. He has a wide knowledge of how the technology around the compound works and if something is broken or not working properly, Rowan is competent enough to either modify or fix it. Still, he's no genius and may often come across as dull or ignorant.
He has a tendency to forget things that aren't of utmost importance, but will remember the very trivial matters that no one else seems to care about. Things like the weather forecast, or a mark on the wall that wasn't there before, Rowan picks up on these little things rather than the fact that there was a patient left in isolation he was supposed to deliver. A humble soul, Rowan knows he's far from perfect. How couldn't he? But he can't stand the people who have the brass to point out his flaws. If provoked enough, the guard is quick to retaliate relying on his brute strength to defend his character and his honor.
Despite being a faculty member, Rowan's been told he'll never see the outside world, ever. In a vain attempt to make connections with the outside world, the guard has taken up charting stars, studying the constellations because it's something he and the outside world will always share. He tends to be a bit of a dreamer, often laying on the compound rooftop and wondering how many people are watching the same stars. His mind often wonders whether it be outside on the job, and the moment he gets talking about stars, and 'what if this', and 'what if that', there's little hope of shutting him up. He tends to be a little naive believing in things like the Red String of Fate, or wishing on shooting stars and for that he's been teased relentlessly. He still chooses to believe in them, though.
Social Characteristics:
Rowan communicates through the use of body language almost as much as he does verbally. He is known for his repetitive hand gestures or similar phrases he always repeats like, 'you know?' The guard is horrible at getting his point across on the first try, often going the extra measure of making elaborate analogies that don't make sense to others. He's very kind at heart and willing to accept almost anyone, how close he'll allow them to get is another matter entirely.
Rowan has little trust for the faculty but he finds the patients to be too ignorant, unaware of the bigger picture. On most occasions he prefers to spend time with the faculty, at least, they know what's going on. Amongst his peers Rowan will stand his ground only when absolutely necessary. If it's expected of him to stand his ground against his superiors simply because he'll one day be at the top of the Guard Chain, he will. But he really prefers not to step on any of the other guard's toes. When it comes to patients, however, Rowan will not stand for being pushed around. Given his intimidating physic, he's rarely come across patients foolish enough to toy with him. But when he does, he will waste no time in putting them in their place.
As a guard Rowan is cold, often speaking in a firm monotonous voice and rarely offering much self-expression. However when there are few guards around, he tends to let his walls down a little, revealing the timid but kind soul he really is.
