It all started with Ahmet Benici. The World's lead scientist published his findings that the laws that govern our world would change so drastically human life would not be possible. It was his findings that urged the U.S government to begin a secret project, Project New World. The purpose of this project was to save humanity from its impending doom. So I invite you visitor, whoever you are it doesn't really matter. Come, sit down at your keyboard and tell me, what role are you going to play in this story?
Setting
There are many rumors and stories to be told about the city of Chase. Stories and tales rise from the mysterious forest that borders its northern side. There's big talk of some government project happening on the other side, but no one can know for sure. The small town has a rather sparse population of 20,000 people and is kept isolated from its neighboring town by Wyers lake.

Was he claiming he was fearless? Michelle scoffed, rolling her eyes. Everyone was afraid of something. His 'brave' claim was now a challenge in her mind. It went without assumption that he had to be afraid of the collar at least. But that was far, far too easy of a guess. She wouldn't get nearly enough credit for that, not like he was going to give her any credit anyways.
But as Feral continued, Michelle found herself growing more and more puzzled. When she'd first arrived, the boy seemed grouchy and unsociable. In her mind, he was still all of those things and more, but she was beginning to notice the small occasions where he initiated conversation. For what reason, she couldn't imagine. Why did he feel the need to speak when she wasn't? Was he afraid of the dark? Unlikely as he could see. Michelle squinted in thought as she tried to decode him, once more cursing the darkness that kept her from studying him properly.
"Can you just...shut the fuck up?" She asked abruptly. Michelle didn't need him rambling about why she was in here. But he was at it again, rambling. Was he just afraid to shut up? Or perhaps he hated her speech enough that he decided to add in his own. But rather than insult him or defend herself, the girl lapsed into silence. Maybe he had as much trouble sitting in silence as she did sitting still. There was still plenty of time to test her theories of course.
That was a first. Well... Not really. Once he got to growling and huffing he'd usually hear that line a couple times before he was shocked into submission. This was the first time he'd heard it for actually speaking though. In her defense, he was speaking an awful lot more than he used to. But at the same time... "After all the effort you put into getting me to talk?" he scoffed. "You're a real piece of work." he concluded. Difficult to understand indeed, but those would appear to be his last words for a bit as Feral decided to focus on something else, not wanting to rely on her to keep whatever little sanity he had left.
So instead he decided to push himself upright, something she might be able to hear at least with all the shuffling. Still a bit weary, but already his strength was beginning to come back to him, though not without a few groans in pain. Being shocked just made his whole body tense up and it was an incredible amount of effort just to barely move a muscle, let alone get up and move around so soon. But he managed, getting to his feet though not without resting his hand against the wall for support.
Michelle had no proper response to Feral. If she wasn't a piece of work, she wasn't doing her job right? Or at least that's what she had come to believe. The girl was a walking anomaly, a conundrum of contradictions. Sometimes she even confused herself. But Michelle only curled up all the tighter, answering his rude remark with a grunt and nothing more.
As the boy began to shift around, Michelle cast an almost worrisome look in his direction. She wasn't afraid of his strength or his mutant abilities. But Michelle found great discomfort in the close proximity of others. The girl shifted until she sat on her knees, peering into the darkness for any sign of him drawing too close. She didn't think he /would/, but the movement made her uneasy.
[O.O.C: Whenever you would like someone to come for Feral, feel free btw :] ]
She'd kept quiet then, seeming to be done talking to him. With no real topics to go off on, Feral would fall silent himself, resigning to his fate. If he tried to keep his mind busy with anything else, he should be able to survive, surely. He'd been through far worse than this after all, right?
The collared male had gotten to his feet by then, still planning on keeping as much distance as possible, but feeling the walls closing in, he needed to move around a bit. She didn't appear to appreciate it much though, proving just how uneasy she was around him. He might have laughed were he in a better mood but he opted to just leave her be for now. "You aren't worth my time.." he assures, not too concerned whether she believed him or not.
Course with the constant growling she really might not buy it. His stomach was turning and with the thought of food on his mind, it was making his stomach protest. With mind busy with food and the anxiety of being trapped, he wouldn't notice a new arrival until he heard a familiar click of the lock.
Not concerned that he might scare her, Feral had made his way across the room again, having every intent of getting out, permitted or not.
Not worth his time? Michelle huffed in annoyance but didn't argue. She didn't make a point to be worth anyone's time. In fact, she hardly cared what or who he thought was worth his time. She rubbed her hands together gingerly, blowing on them for warmth before settling them between her thighs with a sigh. If Michelle had known she'd have isolation that day, she would have worn her warmest sweater. It wasn't long before she succumbed to series of small shivering fits, clenching her jaw to keep her teeth from chattering. Was it getting colder or was it just her? It was likely the ground sucking away all her body heat, but she didn't think to stand up.
Instead, she listened as Feral moved, eyes darting around warily. He wasn't coming towards her was he? Unlike before when it almost lulled her to sleep, his growl was in no way reassuring. He was getting closer. Unsure if she should lash out at the darkness or just get out of his way, Michelle scramble to her feet. It was probably a good thing too as she heard the locks clicking.
Rather then approach the door as Feral seemed to be, the girl backed away from it. She wasn't looking forwards to the harsh light that would flood the chamber the moment the door opened. Michelle was also without a doubt that forcing her own way out of the chamber would not be a good idea, especially not for someone her size. With Feral's shock collar she wouldn't recommend it either, but she bit her tongue instead of saying anything.
Fortunately she'd get out of the way once the door was ready to open as he certainly would have ran her over, eager to get out while he could. Unfortunately, being so adjusted to the dark, the bright light when the door opened was not something he was prepared for, effectively blinding him as he flinched away from the painful brightness. It gave the guard there enough time to react at least and before he could even react, he felt another shock to his neck, short lived but definitely enough to force him to back up.
"They weren't kidding." the much larger man mused out loud as he watched Feral claw at his collar again before turning his attention to Michelle. Asides from looking a bit spooked, she didn't appear to be too injured which was surprising given her temporary roommate. "Sorry to interrupt your alone time. Looks like someone forgot to empty the room." he excused. Behind him were a couple other guards, obviously prepared to remove him. Seeing the cuffs of course, Feral wouldn't make it easy, backing away into the back of the room as he snarled.
The sudden flood of light sent Michelle's hands to quickly shield her eyes. Gradually she spread her fingers, peaking through the cracks until she was squinting into the harsh light. The guards were but silhouettes to her eyes until they had adjusted, but she was not left without a throbbing headache and an aching vision. Shielding her eyes with her good hand, Michelle let the other drop to her side. Now that there was some decent light, she glanced over to get a good look at Feral, only to see him backing away. Didn't he want to get out?
Michelle planted herself in front of the door, eying the guards coolly. Her poker face had returned though she strained to see past the guards for the faintest sign of any clock. How long had she already been here? "Asshole isn't going to make it easy for you guys, so you might as well just take me instead." Michelle doubted she could get herself out of here, but that didn't mean she wasn't willing to try. Maybe they'd have mercy on her and just leave him here for being difficult.
The girl clenched her jaw to keep her teeth from chattering, doing a similar motion with her fists. Now that she could see, there was indeed a bruise on her left hand and she resisted the urge to turn her hand over so she could study it closer. That damn dog, or whatever he's supposed to be, she thought angrily. Michelle intended to fully pay him back for his little stunt earlier, how she wasn't sure yet.
Doesn't he want out? Of course. He just doesn't want to be chained up to make it happen which was obviously necessary. They even had themselves a muzzle, well enough acquainted with dealing with him and having experience with those teeth. A couple advanced, one blocking the door so neither of them could slip out.
While the others were preoccupied, the one at the door turned to her as she spoke. "Have enough already?" he asked with a smirk. "Didn't scare you too much, did he?" they teased. Really though, being stuck with Feral could be punishment enough and it'd certainly save them from dragging him out.
Feral didn't seem too thrilled with the idea of being trapped longer though and actually looked afraid for a moment at the mere thought. "You can't keep me here!" he objected. "Wanna bet?" one of the guards had taunted. "Might do you good to stay in here another week..." the one at the door mused out loud, rubbing his chin while his other hand held the remote to his collar should he make a wrong move.
Eyes narrowed, Michelle stepped to the side a little. She had no intentions of bolting, not even if the guards stepped away. The girl only rubbed her bruised hand slowly, casting Feral a scornful but somewhat abused look. "Oh it was awful," her voice oozed with sarcasm. "The kid is just as terrifying as a drowned kitten," not that Michelle had ever seen a drowned kitten. Although, come to think about it, that could be rather terrifying.
There was no hopefulness as she interacted with the guard. Michelle could play games, but she wasn't daft enough to forget that the guards could play games too. She wouldn't put it past them to get her hopes up and then slam the door on her, not like it hadn't happened before. But for now, she was willing to converse 'appropriately' with them. Not to worry though, all of her aggression would come back soon enough.
At Feral's objection, Michelle shot him a glare. Couldn't he just shut up and go back to being difficult? Part of her felt sympathy for him. He'd been stuck in here for who knows how long with no food, water, and that damn collar to keep him company, oh and her of course. She imagined some fresh air and a decent meal would do him some good, but before sympathy could take over, Michelle shot the guard a pointed look. "So, can I go, please?"
The guard actually seemed amused by her comparison, whereas Feral was not as happy. The fucker would feel brave hiding behind this shock collar. In fact he was about to speak his mind but managed to bite his tongue. Insulting them wasn't going to get him out of here any sooner, though at this rate it seemed like he was as good as stuck.
Before he could object, the girl spoke again, eager to get out herself. Of course she had no trouble throwing him under the bus for her benefit. Would he have done the same? Probably! But that didn't make it sting less, the beast glaring at her as she tried to win the guard's favor.
"I don't know. Have you learnt your lesson?" he highly doubted it, seeing as this hasn't been her first time in Isolation, but that wouldn't stop him from giving her the chance to plead her case, or rather make her beg. Wouldn't hurt them any keeping her there longer, after all.
Feral growled though couldn't really do much as the other guards were effectively blocking his way. He could try to force his way through but probably wouldn't get far without another shock, wincing at the thought. "This is such bullshit.." he hissed, a nearby guard shooting him a warning glare. "Keep talking and we'll make sure you never see daylight again, freak." Michelle had a far better chance of getting out than he did, at the very least, though she'd have to appeal to them, something Feral wasn't willing to stoop down low enough to do.
Until now, Michelle's pride hadn't been an issue. At the guard's question, her eyes narrowed dangerously. She didn't have a shock collar. She could step out of line. Unfortunately, she was also five feet tall. Regardless, Michelle felt her rage begin to simmer. This guy...She studied his face intently, trying to glean any information. Was he just toying with her? Did he plan on making her grovel? Or would his hate of Feral be enough to simply let her out?
While these questions whirled about in her mind, she bit her tongue not trusting a thing she was about to say. Around most patients and some of the faculty, Michelle could get away with snide or challenging comments. While many people would be tempted to beat her, no one usually did. But she had to remind herself they were in the Isolation room and Feral was nearby. Who was to say the guard wouldn't just lash out and blame it on him? Speaking out of turn probably wasn't the best idea then.
Slick talking she could manage, but groveling wasn't her thing. Michelle had a pride to and she'd hate to dishonor it. She cast Feral a dark look when he spoke though her gaze lingered longer than it probably should've. If she wasn't willing to play by the guard's rules, she'd likely be stuck in here on her own and he would get to taste freedom first. Or, she could beg, grovel, or whatever and maybe get out, but would they really leave him here for another week?
Perhaps it was a streak of compassion, or perhaps it was her unwillingness to yield to the man before her. "Have you learned your lesson you fucking twat?" Michelle spat at his feet, and her eyes came to life with a familiar aggression. Apparently she hadn't learned her lesson, or perhaps she wasn't ready to bow down to the authorities.
Honestly the guard must have thought he'd have a better chance putting the girl in here, betting on her being scared to be enough to make her cooperate. Was it far-fetched to say this had actually been planned? Perhaps not with these guards, but regardless of whether they were both placed in here intentionally or not, she didn't seem to learn a dammed thing, still having that horrid attitude. The man actually seemed disappointed, sighing. "Should've known better." he tsked.
Meanwhile Feral actually seemed confused, looking over to her with a puzzled expression. Well he had to give her one thing. She was pretty ballsy for a little girl, even though he had no idea why she seemed to be changing her mind. "Guess you'll be staying here for a few more hours." he explained, nodding towards the guards who took that as their cue to subdue the distracted beast.
A smart move, the secured his mouth with a muzzle first, making sure he couldn't sink those teeth inside either of them. Almost immediately though, he began to struggle and the men were having a bit of trouble as they were slammed into the wall. Eventually, after letting them have their fun, the guy at the door held down a button and Feral would drop to his hands and knees as his entire body was wracked with volts. The muzzle barely muffled his cry of pain before it'd finally stop, the beast barely conscious.
Taking advantage of his weakened state, the guards would secure him before dragging the whimpering teen to the exit after the man guarding the door side-stepped, blocking Michelle from moving forward. "Be careful, girly. Don't wanna end up like him." the man advised with a dark smile, waiting for his fellow guards to get out the other patient while he focused on this one. "Work on your manners and maybe I'll be nice enough to let you out before you miss your classes." Had he been listening? Sure seemed that way.
At the look of disappointment, Michelle's anger only continued to boil. She rubbed her hand with slow, calming circles though it did little to ease her rage. The small girl pulled a sudden face as her tongue was tainted with the salty tang of blood. She was biting her cheek too hard. At least she was trying to hold her tongue and she shot Feral a withering look as if to say this was all his fault. It wasn't of course, but Michelle was all for blaming others for her problems.
But a few hours in isolation wasn't actually that bad. At least they weren't going to leave her here for weeks or days. Maybe if she was lucky, she'd still get to have dinner. Instead of replying, Michelle only stepped to the side turning to watch the guards handle Feral. She withheld her smirk as he saw the boy momentarily get the best of them. Why couldn't the idiot just accept his fate and get the hell out of the chamber? But as the shock collar went off, Michelle calmly averted her gaze, unable to watch it happen again. She hadn't really seen him get shocked the first time, but she had no burning desire to watch him convulse, writh, or do whatever his body felt the need to do when he was electrocuted.
Once more Michelle stepped away, allowing the guards to pass. If it weren't for Senior Jackass who'd decided to speak, she might have actually just let them go. Instead, she shot him a furious glare and in only moments her left shoe came free sent hurtling towards the guard. It was hardly going to break a bone... or cause any damage. "Go fuck yourself asshole!" Michelle snarled. Maybe she should've kept her shoe? She might actually be needing that...
They weren't at all gentle as they dragged him out, seeming to take any opportunity to make him suffer after pulling that little stunt. He growled weakly, even struggled a bit but to no avail. Eventually he'd lose whatever consciousness he had left before blacking out, completely exhausted. A trip to the infirmary might be necessary, but they were obviously in no hurry to tote him there. Rather, they focused on getting him to his ward to lock him up for a bit before he woke up.
As they were left alone for a bit, the guard would turn his attention back to Michelle, only to get hit with a shoe. The only thing it really hurt was his pride, effectively wiping off that shit eating smirk as the man scowled. "Off to a good start..." he muttered sarcasticaly, taking up the shoe and having every intention of confiscating it. "Try not to freeze." he'd offer, giving her no time to consider throwing the other before he'd leave the room, slamming the heavy door behind him.
With a lock, she'd finally be left alone in Isolation.
Michelle cursed, flinching as the door slammed shut behind him. She was alone in the dark, not that that bothered her. But it was dark and cold and she was down one shoe. After a copious amount of cursing, the girl slowly sunk to the floor. Taking her bare foot in both hands, she brought it into her lap, tucking hands into her armpits and leaning forwards. It was likely a position that would cramp her muscles and stiffen her joints, but it sounded like she was going to need the warmth.
It was awfully quiet without the constant rumble of growls, but Michelle wasn't complaining. She sat there for as long as she could before her bottom became numb and her teeth began to chatter. Instead of sulking further, she began pacing the length of the chamber. When she could properly judge the distance from one end of the room to the next, she began to run suicide lines. There were no real lines on the floor, so she tried to keep a mental note of each place she stopped. One too many times she accidentally collided with the wall, but the constant motion kept her mind from over processing the dark and it kept her body warm.
It was exhausting and draining, but Michelle kept at it until she felt in desperate need of water. Slumping down next to the door, feet extended before her, the girl stretched slowly before resting her head against the wall. The cold felt nice, and faintly aware of the cement sucking the warmth from her body, Michelle slipped into an uncomfortable and yet unpenetrable sleep. Her spirit would not be broken this time.
