It all started with Ahmet Benici. The World's lead scientist published his findings that the laws that govern our world would change so drastically human life would not be possible. It was his findings that urged the U.S government to begin a secret project, Project New World. The purpose of this project was to save humanity from its impending doom. So I invite you visitor, whoever you are it doesn't really matter. Come, sit down at your keyboard and tell me, what role are you going to play in this story?
Setting
There are many rumors and stories to be told about the city of Chase. Stories and tales rise from the mysterious forest that borders its northern side. There's big talk of some government project happening on the other side, but no one can know for sure. The small town has a rather sparse population of 20,000 people and is kept isolated from its neighboring town by Wyers lake.

When his cocky warning hadn't deterred Feral, Ephraim actually frowned. Feral would rather die out there than in here? It would have made sense if Ephraim wasn't convinced death was death no matter how greatly you died. Was Feral trying to uphold some sort of reputation? Now that was an interesting thought. Might as well let the mighty beast go down wild and untameable then at the hands of his captors right?
But Feral couldn't leave. As he'd just discovered, the freak was his most favorable option when he needed his next fix. He wasn't just going to let him get himself killed. Dying on the operating table couldn't be helped, full out mutiny was another thing entirely.
There was no opportune moment to protest. Ephraim wasn't keen on admitting he needed Feral to some extent, so when the freak questioned if there was anything else, he shook his head slowly. He was telling him off, right? He wouldn't complain, the nurses would look for him eventually, especially if they spotted Flint wondering about without him.
"Okay well...if you ever need help getting out or anything," Ephraim shrugged, dismissing his own comment. Carefully navigating his way to the door he scowled. "Not useful for much but I know a bit," he could draw maps to. Why was he suddenly trying to prove his usefulness? His own willingness to help irritated him.
Feral was more than content to let the kid leave, preferring some solitude after such a confusing encounter. He wasn't even sure what he'd do with the drawing, seeing as it'd just remind him of what happened, but at the same time, being his first gift in what seemed like forever, maybe the freak wanted to keep it around. He didn't concern himself too much with that though, returning to his hardass behavior while he waited for Ephraim to get out. Or he had, until he spoke up again.
Curiosity was evident in his expression though just as much confusion. What could this kid possibly offer? He wasn't even a freak! He even confirmed he wouldn't be too useful, but then mentioned how he knew a bit. "What the hell does that mean?" he asks with a frown. Wasn't this kid just trying to discourage him from escaping? Why would he want to help now?
"What do you know?" he continues for clarification. Kid was probably just talking out of his ass, but without much of anything to go by, planning wise, he was desperate enough to humor him. Who knows? Maybe he could be useful. But Feral wasn't about to get his hopes up just yet. He was already hoping for Flint to work out and that wasn't exactly going too great, seeing as he hadn't shown much progress since the last time they'd spoke. So, naturally, he was going to be a bit more skeptical this time around. He didn't need more people to waste his time, no matter how safe or smart they claimed to be.
He'd just reached the door when Feral had done the one thing he'd hoped he wouldn't, ask for specifics. Ephraim knew a lot of little things, but they wouldn't amount to a lot, especially not in Feral's eyes. He knew how to activate shock collars without a switch, he knew how some of the automatic doors worked from the inside, he knew how often food deliveries came and their transportation, he knew his way around quite a bit and was starting to work out surveillance a bit. Most notably, he knew how to draw maps, tying all that information together somehow.
But how would any of those things be of use to Feral? Save for the surveillance system. But the many small things he knew wouldn't amount to a lot when it came to an escape plan. So he shrugged a little self-consciously, "just a bunch of stupid mechanics stuff," he grumbled. "How to activate collars, possibly the doors, draw maps and stupid things like that." He degraded himself as he continued on. "Probably not too useful but..whatever." He'd been forbidden from drawing maps. He got in big trouble for it. And yet here he was offering to do something risky for Feral? This was actually insane. But he needed the freak to stick around, or he needed the opportunity to stick around him.
He watched the boy curiously, not really sure what to expect. Was it rude to not have expected much to begin with? Well part of him may look down on normal folks, simply because they were just that, though in his position specifically, the opposite could be just as true. Still, the fact of the matter was, his hopes weren't too high, but even then, the stuff mentioned did peek his interest. Well, everything but activating collars, since that would do him no good.
Despite his interest, he kept a pretty decent poker face, eyes narrowed as he continued to watch him. "You're probably right." he agreed, not about to satisfy the boy by telling him he might actually be useful. But... "We'll talk about it later. When I can't hear people whispering." he suggested. Whispering? With most of the freaks remaining quiet, listening in for whatever chaos may be happening inside Feral's room, he could hear whispers down the halls, barely making them out. But he knew whatever it was, it wouldn't be good for either of them if it came back to them. So, he supposed they'd have to catch up later on, preferably when Feral had time to think about things first. This could actually turn out helpful, if the boy wasn't bullshitting him. After all, opening doors and making maps could help him find an escape route. It might even convince his brother to work along as well, seeing as their chances would surely improve with that sort of info.
"Get out of here." he growled. "And next time don't come barging in my room." he advised, not able to guarantee it'd end as well as it had this time. And bribing him with drawings probably wouldn't work out again either.
